"D-28 Kit 110229: A descendent of Jane Dawson and Jesse Martin Heflin took a DNA test and found out that she is related to our Elijah Dawson through Elijah's son David Dawson, who married Jane Dawson and Jesse Martin Heflin's daughter Elizabeth. It is assumed therefore that Jane Dawson is most likely the sister of our Elijah Dawson. Thus the rumor that there was intermarriage in the Dawson family is correct. The parents of Elijah Dawson and Jane Dawson most likely are Elijah Dawson and Jane Jett. I have not found any information on these last two. The Heflin family hooked them up via Sons of the Revolution application to the John Dawson and Christopher Dawson families of Stafford, Virginia. That family's DNA does not match our Elijah's DNA."
"Re: D-28, Kit No. 110229: Our Elijah Dawson, born 1805 in Kentucky, married Margaret McCoy in Indiana and died 1801 in Iowa. He has a sister named Sarah who married Jacob Harter. I cannot find Elijah's parents. His DNA, through my son, indicates that he is related to Charles Dawson, b Loudoun Co, VA 1747 and married Ruth Piles, and his family. Elijah was a preacher for the Christian Church. Scoured the internet, including Ancestry and films and books at the LDS church library the last 15 years to no avail. Hope someone has some kind of clue that could help me ????."
