D-28 Kit 110229: A descendent of Jane Dawson and Jesse Martin Heflin took a DNA test and found out that she is related to our Elijah Dawson through Elijah's son David Dawson, who married Jane Dawson and Jesse Martin Heflin's daughter Elizabeth. It is assumed therefore that Jane Dawson is most likely the sister of our Elijah Dawson. Thus the rumor that there was intermarriage in the Dawson family is correct. The parents of Elijah Dawson and Jane Dawson most likely are Elijah Dawson and Jane Jett. I have not found any information on these last two. The Heflin family hooked them up via Sons of the Revolution application to the John Dawson and Christopher Dawson families of Stafford, Virginia. That family's DNA does not match our Elijah's DNA.
