He was a member of the Company of Drapers, sheriff, and auditor
and elected Lord Mayor of London in 1467 and 1476. In 1471 he thwarted the attempt by Thomas Neville, ‘the Bastard of Faulconbridge’ to release Henry VI from captivity in the Tower. |
